William Peden Graham arrived from Ireland, county Armarh, and reasonably well off family. Well educated, sang in church choir. Came to Australia to make fortune in Bendigo area but went into vegetable production. Married Amilia Cox in Echuca. Built Shamrock Hotel in Echuca in late 1850's. Mayor Echuca in 1867. Drinking problem and wife saved him. Bought a property on Goulbourn, Canupella.
Had 8 children: Annie (married a Blacksmith at Merrigum -Scotish), William (logger contractor sending logs to Echuca, made good money and had a bad temper, good farmer), Eva (remained single, should have mairred a local guy but didn't), Walter (bright red hair, managed coldwell estate, the went to WA - June, Jack, Keith Isabel), Mary (remained single, quiet, school teacher at a school with 11-12 children, one child was Nell who married Hector Graham), Jack (June, Neville and Greg, married Kathryn McFee, went to Gallioly in 1914), and Gertrude (married Wilfred Stanley Lilford, d 1980 aged 92- Mary Bernice and Norma Evelyn)(plus one died at aged 3). First three went to college in Echuca,
